risky fantasies
Posted in is it safe on February 27th, 2007Once upon a time there was a little butterfly whose name was Bananafly. Bananafly had a friend…Goldie. They were like good friends, they chilled together, played together and sometimes played tricks on each other.
One day, Bananfaly was just taking a stroll when she bumped into Goldie. Goldie looked upset. She said she was doing alright, but her eyes were tired. Bananafly could see that she felt a little tired but empty. So Bananafly sat her down by the old Banyan tree and made her some Raspberry Fruit tea just the the way Goldie liked. Goldie was quiet at first. She didn’t want to say anything…but after her fifth cup of tea, Goldie started her story.
She got a new project to do in FairyLand and it’s really nothing like she’s done before. In all her other projects, she had her good fairy friends around her. Her fairy friends would help her and guide her and they would even hold her back from doing stupid things when it came to her personal life, they didn’t need to, but they did it anyway.
This one, this project is different for her though, they want her to build a castle out of a toadstool and this time she doesn’t have a fairy friends to help her, this time she’s alone.
Goldie starts crying right into her cup of Raspberry Fruit. Bananafly tried to comfort her and told her all about the BigGuyFairy. Who would always be with her and He would help her through it. Bananafly showed her the wonders of the BigGuyFairy and He is special and that all Goldie needed to do was to have a little faith. She smile a little and it warmed Bananafly right to her heart.
But what Goldie told Bananafly next broke her heart. She told Bananafly about Brownie and how he broke her heart. How he was mean sometimes and made hear things that she really didn’t need too. Bananafly always knew just how much Goldie loved Brownie, Bananafly knew that. She had always known. That’s when Bananafly heart started to hurt. Her head started to spin. It started to hurt bad.
And as Goldie explained she didn’t mind Brownie doing the things he did to her and why that no matter what, she’ll always love him…Bananafly went crazy inside and the urge to go find Brownie and beat the living shit out of him, but instead, with tears threatening to spill, Bananafly held Goldie’s hand undee the only Banyan tree and told her that no matter what, she’ll be there for her and that things in the head that whizzes by need time to dissolve. For a long while after, Goldie relaxed…more at peace with herself as Bananafly held her hand protectively. Bananafly smiled….and as she watched Goldie walk away with a little skip in her step….she whispered amongst the trees, sending a couple of gnomes to burn down Brownie’s house. Not to hurt him….but to make him wake up!
Sometimes, in my head, my mind…it makes it better, the pain…even if it’s just for a while.
