the aneh
He was seven. I was two.
He was the one who made wrestling with him really fun.
He was the one introduced me to Spiderman and Superman and told me they were real. Like a fool I believed him and have fallen in love with comics ever since.
He was the one who kept cheating when playing monopoly. I just thought that was the way the game was played.
He made me watch The NeverEnding Story over and over again. And till today, I remember the big dog dragon’s name: Falkor and Bastian looked like a girl and Atreyu is in fact Indian.
He was the one who taught me how to make milo into a thick chocolate paste and then eat it with bread.
He was the one who spoke to me about girls he liked, used to like and why girls sometimes baffle him.
He was the one who always get heat if one of us cousins got into some trouble.
He was the one and still is someone I would call if I needed a second opinion about technology gadgets.
He was the one who could talk some sense to my mother when she was in one of her crazy ass moods.
He was the one who would let me play football with the rest of the guys.
He was the one who yelled at me in anger and then called later at night and apologized for being a bastard.
He was the one who taught me to never show all of your emotions because sometimes it’s just better that way.
He was the one who told me that there was only one girl he ever wanted to marry. He would meet me after work and we’ll head down to Peninsula plaza and go have lunch. That’s where I met “The Wife†as he calls her now.
He was the one who said sometimes we all love the most unexpected people and that’s how stupid came about.
He was the one would ask me to repeat the whole story of “Ram’s Sister†over and over again and would keep laughing before he could hear the story.
He was the one who knew even before I did.
And so last night as we were talking and laughing during dinner, about the ‘the scenes that they haven’t shown’ and how your mum and Nitz would tape their favorite program using a camcorder instead of a video tape recorder….and how you smiled knowingly when I told you about that photo….I realized I really missed just hanging out with you.

It hasn’t run out just yet.
